Learn to perform acrobatic maneuvers wholly supported by your hands and arms. A synthesis of acrobatics, contortion, balance, and wrought strength, Acrobalance incorporates many facets of circus and raw endurance.
Acrobalance combines elements of hand-balancing & partner lifts. Traditionally, the base lifts his or her partner in many different poses and positions, but modern forms also include throws and tosses; the base usually throwing the flyer into somersaults, layouts, and other acrobatic maneuvers.
Introduction to Acrobalancing, assisted by William Smith, will cover the basic building blocks necessary for skills in partner balance/acro yoga. Jenny will focus on efficient use of the body, resulting in strength conditioning and increased flexibility through the postures. Each student will gain experience working with partners of varying skill level and learn postures to practice at home individually.
Come learn an old art, and surprise yourself with your internal strength.
