Lyra/Hoop

Basics: Aerial hoop is a great place for new aerialists to begin. We cover hanging, inverting, sitting, reclining, and standing positions both in and on top of the hoop. The student will begin to become accustomed to spinning and swinging on the apparatus. This class, like all classes, begins and ends with conditioning drills, dance technique, and flexibility training.
Intermediate: In this class we begin to work on creating transitions into, out of, and between positions on the hoop, including changing levels from under to above the apparatus. Students work towards greater strength and flexibility, increasing their skill set, and improving stamina, all while consistently maintaining technical proficiency.
Advanced: Advanced Lyra focuses on 2 things: learning advanced hangs, balances, and releases; and creating new variations and combination of tricks. Under the guidance of our professional staff, students will begin to develop their personal style in preparation for performance, and gain not only the strength, but also the technique they need to take their passion for lyra out of the studio and onto the stage. Advanced students are invited to participate in our student shows.
