Rope/Corde Lisse

Rope/Corde Lisse Prerequisites: Intro to Aerial or Instructor approval required

Beginning Rope: The rope is perhaps the most formidable of the traditional apparatus. It is not for the faint of heart! Learn basic climbs, locks, inversions, hangs, and wraps. With strong attention to technique, students will learn to train effectively and safely, and become stronger and more flexible movers.

Intermediate Rope: In this class we start to put it all together, learning to create combinations and using drops to move between skills. Increase core and upper body strength dramatically and add to your skill set. As always, this class begins and ends with dance technique, conditioning drills, and flexibility training.

Advanced Rope: Learn the “big drops”, use swings to climb and release, and master the most advanced hangs. Students begin creating their own phrases of movement and exploring new ways to move on the rope, developing their personal style with the guidance of our professional staff. Advanced students are invited to perform their newly minted works in our student shows.
